Under the direction of the manager of distance learning, the primary objective of this position is coordination of an online enterprise system including the distribution, control and maintenance of all equipment assigned to the PASS program as well as implementing and maintaining a life cycle management program that will meet the current and future needs of distance education delivery in Nunavut. The secondary objective of this position is to maintain, administrate and create systems of records keeping, (i.e., student applications, student files, inventory tracking, etc.).
The incumbent will work with all stakeholders towards establishing a sustainable distance learning program that meets the needs of Nunavut’s current and future learning environment. The incumbent will ensure effective evaluative methodologies are in place to ensure on-going responsiveness to the training and support needs of the PASS program and to ensure the program is meeting its goals and objectives.
The incumbent will also assist in the recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, management and support of staff required for the PASS program to be successful.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of satellite-based internet services in remote or rural locations, adult education programming in remote locations, and development and management of helpdesk support systems. The candidate will have post-secondary education in Office Administration, Information Technology, or other field related to the scope of work and required duties, plus a minimum of two (2) years of experience in coordinating a program involving multiple stakeholders, and experience administering an online enterprise system (such as G Suite Education) for the coordination of an educational or similar program, experience managing and administering online Learning Management Systems (such as Moodle), experience managing large inventories, and experience providing technical end user support as well as technical system administration.
The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktitut (Inuinnaqtun), English and French.
Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official language is an asset.
Equivalencies that consist of an acceptable combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
Knowledge of Inuit language, communities, culture, land and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit is an asset.
