Aberdeen Hall Preparatory School provides excellent academics, athletics, arts and character education to 650+ Preschool to Grade 12 students. Preference will be given to applicants who:
o have completed advanced study in Special Education, including courses in Children with Exceptionalities (learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, mental illness), Programming for students with learning differences, and Creating positive learning environments in inclusive education;
o be able to design, implement and evaluate programming for students with special needs in a Grade 6 12 environment;
o be able to demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills;
o be able to demonstrate exceptional time management and organizational skills;
o be able to work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, parents, students, school counsellors and community support personnel;
o have a solid understanding of the BC Ministry of Education Grade 6-12 curriculum and feel confident supporting all core subjects;
o be thoroughly familiar and experienced with all aspects of the IEP process.
Experience in the following areas would be an asset, coaching, experiential education and ELL.
