POSITION: TRANSLATOR / INTERPRETOR (FRENCH TO ENGLISH)

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.

FUNCTION & DUTIES:
Under the authority of the Secretary General, the Translator/Interpretor provides accurate translations of a variety of documents, does terminological research, revises and collaborates in the writing of texts and on occasion, interprets at meetings so as to ensure efficient communication in English and French.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree with an appropriate specialty, such as translation.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the aforementioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Fluent in French and English ;
• Experience in simultaneous interpretation (asset)
• Computer literate;
• Able and willing to travel to Nunavik upon request;
• At least 2 years of experience (preferably in the field of Education);
• Capacity to work under pressure and in a multicultural environment.

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
In accordance with the SPPOM collective agreement for professionals: from $39,568 to $72,852 annually depending on qualification and experience.

In addition to salary, you may be eligible to other benefits such as:

All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
