The Sahtu Divisional Education Council is seeking an experienced administrator for Ehtseo Ayah School in Deline, NT for the 2018/19 school year.

The candidates must have or be completing a Bachelor of Education Degree and be eligible for a Northwest Territories Teaching Certificate. Candidates also must be willing to participate in the Educational Leadership Program.

The following criteria will be important considerations in the hiring process:
-Administrative experience in a JK-12 school
-Strong understanding of secondary school programming and Differentiated Instruction
-Proven ability to motivate staff and collaborate with others
-Experience providing instructional leadership to promote student learning
-Experience using data to inform instructional and administrative decisions
-Proven ability to promote culture-based learning throughout subject matter
- Strong collaboration skills are sought as teachers work together to implement classroom instruction.

The candidate should embrace strong connections with community and be open to engaging fully in the rich cultural and extra-curricular life of the school.

Ehtseo Ayha School (JK-12 - 120 students) - Deline

Principal (1.0 TERM) - Start date: August 20, 2018

Salary: dependent on qualifications - ranges from $79,386-$128,166 per annum, plus a very attractive benefits package include a Principal Allowance which is determined by student enrolment, Northern Living Allowance of approximately $23,407, and relocation expenses. Délįnę : Deh-le-nay (where the water flows) is a traditional stopping place for Sahtu Dene for generations. The population of Deline is around 500 people. For most of the year access to the Hamlet is by plane. There is winter ice road access for a period of time during the winter months.

Ɂǝhtsǝ́o Ayha Erįhtł’é Kǫ́/ Ehtseo Ayha School (EAS) is named after one of the Sahtu Dene Spiritual Leaders. EAS is a JK-12 school that has around 100 students. EAS is the home of the L.A.K.E.R.S., and we strive toward the qualities of Leadership, Great Attitude, Kindness, Respect, and Success.

With Connections to Sir John Franklin, ice hockey history and the Manhattan Project, Deline has many interesting and global connections for such a far off place.
