Focus Learning is a progressive after school learning centre with a unique curriculum of applied and academic private and group classes. We offer four main programs: Academic Excellence, Edutainment Engineering, Edutainment Arts and Edutainment Camps. Under Academic Excellence we offer Reading and Writing, French, Math and Science for students from SK to grade 12. Our Edutainment Engineering Program has courses in Robotics Engineering, Financial Literacy, Computer Studies and Architecture 101, these are targeted at students ages 8 to 14. English Teacher – Secondary School
We are currently seeking a part time, contract English teacher that is available to teach high school students. This is also a great opportunity for teachers who want to create their own curriculum and fun engaging projects such as Poetry Writing and Story Telling or Story Acting for after school activities. Availability time from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on weekdays and Saturdays from 9:30-5:00pm. During July and August for our Summer Camp Program, hours would be from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. Hours of work would range from 1.5 to 20 per week.
• Teacher should have a passion for helping and motivating students.
• Be organized, self-motivated and able to work flexible hours. You will be required to provide regular feedback and evaluation of students on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
• Be able to provide and create weekly lesson plans, supervise and monitor student progress.
• Lead students in activities to promote their physical, mental and social development and their school readiness
The successful candidate should have teaching or educational experience. She/he should be able to supervise between one to eight students. Class sizes would vary. Completion of University Program and Provincial Teaching Certificate preferred. Must have a bachelor of Education and ability to teach multiple subjects preferred.
